Price and Conditions

Your booking is provisional and will be held for 14 days pending receipt of a deposit of £100.

The cost of staying at Park House in 2026/27 is £14 per guest per night (members of Girlguiding Cumbria South county or Kentdale or Furness Scout districts) or £15 for other Girlguiding and Scouting groups, subject to a minimum of £175 per night.

The cost of staying at Park House in 2027/28 will be £15 per guest per night (members of Girlguiding Cumbria South county or Kentdale or Furness Scout districts) or £16 for other Girlguiding and Scouting groups, subject to a minimum of £185 per night.

Park House may accept other groups who adhere to the ethos of scouting and guiding at the trustees’ discretion. The price for these groups would be £17 per guest per night.

Please note there is a 2 night minimum stay at weekends.

A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required within 14 days to confirm a booking.

Fees must be paid in full 7 days before arrival.

In exceptional circumstances, the trustees’ may give discounted rates. If your unit will have difficulty in paying our fees, please write explaining the position at least 2 months before your intended visit.

Discounts are entirely at the discretion of the trustees and they will not discuss their decision.

Payment

Payment by BACS is preferred. Our account no is 23593479 and sort code is 20-55-41, please give the booking number as the reference and notify payment to ‘parkhousehawkshead@gmail.com’.

If you need to pay by cheque please make payable to ‘The Park House Trust’, put the booking reference on the reverse and send to Sue Gudgeon, Bracken Hill, Newland, Ulverston, LA12 7QD.

Supplementary Charges

All heating and cooking fuel costs are included in the above charge.

Guests are expected to leave the building clean and tidy when they depart, failure to do so will result on a surcharge of £30, to cover the cost of cleaning.

Arrival and Departure

Unless previously agreed with ‘The Park House Trust’, the building is available from 4 p.m. on your day of arrival and you are required to depart by 11 a.m. on the last day unless agreed in advance by email. This is to give time for cleaning and to accommodate other groups staying.

Kitchen

It is a condition of our insurance that at no time is a junior allowed in the kitchen without a leader present. All taps except the kitchen are thermostatically controlled but please note that water from the kitchen taps could be hot.

Fire Drill

Please acquaint yourself with and brief your group on the location of fire exits, fire extinguishers and drill.

Fire alarms are fitted throughout the building; if they sound you should evacuate the building immediately and gather in the drive to the ‘Old Grammar School’, which is to the south of the building. Please send one leader to alert the Fire Brigade immediately – you can use the telephone in the Car Park Opposite. Please carry out head count immediately.

All Dormitories and the Main Hall have fire doors these must not be propped open but allowed to close at all times.

Car Parking

There are 4 complementary car-parking places close to the building – you will be given directions and permit on arrival.

Responsibility

Throughout their stay, Leaders are responsible for the safety of themselves and their group and for the building. Any accident or damage must be reported as soon as practical to Judith Myers and the appropriate accident form completed.
